Brunch at Maurice
I just returned from a lovely brunch at Maurice with my favorite gals – my mom, my aunt and my cousin. We are determined to make brunch a monthly tradition from this point forward because we enjoy each other’s company so much!
I was worried that this cute small restaurant would fill up quickly and suggested we meet at 9:50am, ten minutes before it opens. I wasn’t wrong about coming early, but apparently the kitchen doesn’t start serving food until 10:30. Not to worry, we were not in a hurry. We lingered slowly with coffee, rosemary scones and black-pepper cheesecake until the menu arrived.
When the menu arrived we were surprised to find it completely hand written! The sweet touch did not go unnoticed. We ordered an anchovy smorbrod (open-faced sandwhich), a simple green salad and fois gras – all the dishes were great!
My favorite part about our time at Maurice was the easy-going pace. Since the staff didn’t rush us we lingered for 3 hours! But hey, you won’t hear me complaining – I live for slow Saturday mornings.
Here are some photos from our sweet little brunch date.
