When I realized that travel IS the point, there was no going back.
My name is Antonina and I’m a thirty-year old traveler from Portland. Embrace Someplace was born in my small Portland, Oregon apartment (with the help of my husband, Will) in an effort to share my love for my hometown. Over time I started creating guides for the numerous national parks we visited together, it was an incredible year!
With time, Will and I started incorporating international travel into our lives and before we knew it, we visited 13 countries. Needless to say, we were hooked on this whole travel thing. It opened our eyes to a world we knew nothing about.
In 2020 my blog grew to a point where I had to make a pivotal decision. After much consideration (and with the help of homemade daiquiris) I took a leap of faith and left my comfortable office job to pursue the website full-time.
Scary is an understatement, but I got to a point in my personal life where I realized that travel is the point, and there was no going back after that. The experience has been life-changing.
Embrace Someplace serves to inform and inspire readers to travel simply for travel’s sake. I create detailed guides (and include plenty of photos), to help make your trip planning easier. The website has a strong focus on Portland, the state of Oregon and national parks.
In 2022, I took yet another leap of faith and decided to spend the year traveling abroad, checking off every interesting international destination I’ve dreamed of for years. We booked month-long stays in a handful of interesting international destination, so stay tuned for that.
I’m living the life I dreamed of for the past ten years and I realize how fortunate I am. Trust me when I tell you this project is a love affair and I’m forever grateful. Thank you for supporting this blog by reading my content, your comments mean more than you know. I love hearing from you!
I hope that this story of an average gal living her version of a dream inspires you to pursue your dreams as well. Life is so good, here’s to enjoying it!
It doesn’t interest me what you do for a living. I want to know what you ache for, and if you dare to dream of meeting your heart’s longing.
Oriah Mountain Dreamer
It doesn’t interest me how old you are. I want to know if you will risk looking like a fool for love, for your dream, for the adventure of being alive.
Cheers!
