Tips for visiting the Portland Farmers Markets

This robust Portland farmers market is located at the Portland State University (PSU) campus in the South Park Blocks between SW College & Montgomery Streets. Both the MAX and Portland Streetcar have stops within 2-blocks of the market.

The PSU farmers market has a diverse variety of vendors, everything from honey makers, chef demonstrations and live musicians. Open year-round rain or shine, locals often consider this the best farmers market in Portland and I don’t disagree.

Hollywood Farmers Market

Kenton Farmers Market in North Portland

But it’s not hard to see why this market is so beloved. Tons of vendors line the streets, from nursery growers and farmers to artisan bakers and cheese makers — you can’t go home empty handed. You’ll also find ton of activities on offer. From live music, children’s playgrounds, fountains and ample seating, everyone is bound to gave a good time.

As you can imagine, parking will be challenging. Show up very early or plan to park + walk so minimize the frustration.

Downtown Vancouver Farmers Market

This is one of my favorite farmers markets near Portland to meet up with friends. I love strolling the booths (so many creative vendors!) and perusing the various kick-knacks on offer. The food trucks are a nice touch and ensure you won’t leave hungry, and there’s tables with ample seating so you don’t feel rushed.

Lake Oswego Farmers Market

This is one of the smaller farmer markets near Portland but what it lacks in size it makes up for in quality. I love swinging by a few times a year because the vendors are some of the nicest you’ll find.
